Two Quick Codes

Happy St. Patrick's Day from the Merry Martini! Enjoy 20% of all purchases between now and Midnight tomorrow with the Promo Code: LUCK.

Shoes.com has an extra 15% off with the code 15off. I'm looking at getting these for TCP Toddler for the spring/summer:

I'm not sure on the sizing, but shoes.com has free shipping AND free returns, so it's always safe. Love that, especially when ordering for the boy.

I'm Not Complaining, but...

...the fantastic warm weather we're having right now? It makes my long, heavy maternity coat just a bit too much. And I don't have a spring-y maternity coat, for the obvious reasons.

The result?

Thank You, Monogram Chick!

Not too long ago, I was the winner of the Monogram Chick's sippy cup giveaway. I chose a yellow and blue monogrammed cup for TCP Toddler and it arrived yesterday. It's so adorable!! It's just like this, only with TCP Toddler's real name.

He love it too (and calls it his "special cup"). Thanks again, Monogram Chick!!

What's in a Name?

So, I think we have finally decided upon a middle name for the baby. With our oldest, Mr. TC and I were in total agreement and had a name picked out approximately 20 seconds after learning the gender. This time? Notsomuch.

Part of the problem is that I have lots of rules for baby names. Nothing trendy. Nothing that contains extraneous "Y"s. Because our last name begins with an R, nothing that ends in an R. No first names that would rhyme with our last name. No monograms that spell words or common acronyms. Must have an acceptable, preferrably one syllable nickname (because our last name is so very, very long...four, count 'em FOUR syllables). Those are just off the top of my head. There are even more rules. And that's before we even start to consider Mr. TC's opinions.

Even though we have arrived at a name at long last, I probably won't use it on the blog. This has given me something of a dilemma. I've been calling our oldest boy "TCP Baby" or "TCP Toddler" for the past couple of years. But now there will be two of them. I could go with Eldest and Youngest. #1 and #2 (although, that somehow strikes me as bad in an Austin Powers-Dr. Evil way).

Or I could plug their real names into the Blogthings Preppy Name Generator and come up with Pseudonyms for them...

For the new baby:

Your Preppy Name Is: Foxhall Godfrey Vanderbilt the Sixth

But most people know you as Tipper

and

Your Preppy Name Is: Creighton Wyndham Pratt the Fourth

But most people know you as Tad

And I could go by TCP or this:

Your Preppy Name Is: Stockton Cannon Barrington the Sixth

But most people know you as Cricket

Solidarity

Today, despite below freezing temps on the Third Coast, I'm sporting the above Lilly scarf as a symbolic gesture of sisterhood with all the preppy bloggers who are currently attending the Martha Stewart taping. (Also, it is the only item of Lilly apparel that still fits me, other than a maternity shift that really would not do when the temps are in the teens!)

I'm looking forward to watching all the fun tonight when I get home. And big thanks go out to the Preppy Pink Crocodile...I was one of the winners of her giveaway! Ice cream wrapped in Lilly certainly takes the sting out of missing the live taping.

Top Ten Reasons Why TCP Needs to Have This Baby Already

Why yes, this is the all-complaining, all-the-time channel! Thanks for tuning in!

In an effort to convince this baby that yes, he should grace us all with his presence sooner rather than later, I present the following list:

10. Friday the 13th is looming. Do you really want to arrive on that date?
9. Tomorrow is the big Lilly Pulitzer - Martha Stewart extravaganza. Wouldn't you like to watch it from the outside?
8.Both Tiny Prints and Boatman Geller are having big sales. If you arrive before they end, we can get you really cute birth announcements on sale.
7. Mama is tired.
6. And would really like some sushi.
5. Your older brother keeps asking "Where is he, mama?" about you and then "But why?" when I say that you are still in my tummy. But why indeed!
4. Cute outfits await you!
3.I am tired of all my maternity clothes. I know that you don't care about this, but really, you should.
2. Did I mention that Mama is tired?
1. We can't wait to meet you!

TCP Recommends...

This blog post by The Pink Teapot. Teaching manners to kids is one of my HUGE pet issues, and this is a great little guide. Nothing earth shattering, but just things to keep in mind.

Roll Out the Barrel

No baby yet, although I have reached the point where if I am offline for too long people are starting to wonder! I have promised Monogram Momma and Ladybug's Picnic to update via twitter when we do head to L & D, so keep your eyes on the twitter feed for updates. T-minus two weeks, if you're counting (not that I am--ahem).

Speaking of twitter, I had a new follower today that led me to the cutest website: Little Barrel Clothing. While some might find it derivative of Vineyard Vines, I think there is plenty of room out there for both companies. All of their prints are wine-related...bottles, glasses, grapes, etc. (Maybe it's the 9 months without wine that is making this appeal to me so much???)

My favorite is a tote (natch)...the Picnic Tote has two interior pockets for wine bottles. Perfect for Ravinia.
